Costa Ricans call themselves Ticos in a reference to their common use of the diminutive ending ” Un momentico, por favor”. While interacting with visitors, Ticos are normally quite open and helpful. Tour companies and other establishments operate on time ,but do not expect punctuality. Time has relative meaning to Ticos.
